WASHINGTON DC - A new report from the Fair Labor Association (FLA) provides guidelines to help fashion brands and retailers achieve transparency on wages paid to workers in their global supply chains.
The FLA says that new mandatory due diligence legislation planned in both the US and the EU, along with pressure from governments, NGOs and shareholders, will require companies to report on issues such as the living wage and fair compensation.
The non-profit's members are already required to collect and analyse wage data, and to have a blueprint to improve workers’ pay and to uphold their rights to fair compensation.
