BRUSSELS - Circularity efforts in the textile industry are more effective when they are local to textile collection, according to a new report from the RREUSE network.
RREUSE, an international network of social enterprises active in circularity, is calling on the European Union (EU) to act to encourage local re-use, repair and recycling.
"Waste prevention is at the top of the waste hierarchy, and the positive impacts of reuse are further multiplied when reuse activities and second-hand sales take place locally," it says.
