GEELONG - Australia's Deakin University has set up a pilot manufacturing facility in partnership with Xefco to research the textile technology firm's new plasma-based method of applying dyes and coatings to textiles.

With funding through Deakin’s Recycling and Clean Energy Commercialisation Hub (REACH), supported by the Australian Government’s Trailblazer Universities Program, the pilot line will be used to explore whether a waterless manufacturing process can replace the traditional water intensive processes widely used by the textile industry.
