NEWARK - The Responsible Contracting Project (RCP) has linked up with the German development agency GIZ to publish proposed supplier model contracts for the apparel and textiles industry.
The RCP says its 'Supplier Model Contract Clauses 1.0' (SMCs) are designed to to improve human rights and purchasing practices in the industry through innovative contracting practices.
They advocate a shared approach to responsible business and include human rights and environmental due diligence obligations for fashion brands and retailers to support their suppliers.
