LONDON - The Microfibre Consortium (TMC) and textile testing equipment specialist James Heal have carried out the first public demonstration of a test method that can be used to measure the amount of microfibres released from clothing using a simulated domestic laundering cycle.

Known at the TMC Test Method, the fibre fragmentation and measurement process was developed through a collaborative relationship between the University of Leeds, the European Outdoor Group and The Microfibre Consortium, as well as the TMC's larger stakeholder network.
