LONDON - Global fibre production increased to record levels last year while the amount of textiles being recycled declined after years of growth, according to a new report.

Textile Exchange's 10th annual Materials Market Report, formerly the Preferred Fiber and Materials Market Report, reveals that fibre production increased from 112 million tonnes in 2021 to 116 million tonnes in 2022.
