WASHINGTON DC – The US Department of Labor (DOL) has awarded up to $12.4 million in grant funding for three organisations to reduce child and forced labour in Mexico and support migrant workers.

Research by the DOL's Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB) has previously suggested that more than 17,000 children work in apparel, footwear and leather production in Mexico.
