BRUSSELS - Campaigners have condemned German politicians who they say are threatening to derail European Union (EU) proposals to make companies liable for human rights and environmental issues in their global supply chains.

It comes just days ahead of a crucial vote on the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) which would be the most far-reaching legislation of its kind so far.
