BRUSSELS - MEPs in the European Parliament's influential Environment Committee have today adopted proposals to better prevent and reduce textile waste across the European Union (EU).

They backed the EU's proposed Waste Framework Directive, which includes an extended producer responsibility (EPR) scheme for textiles, with 72 votes in favour, none against and three abstentions.
