LONDON - The Better Cotton initiative has today issued a statement after fashion giant Inditex described allegations linking cotton certified by the organisation with deforestation in Brazil as a "serious breach in the trust placed in Better Cotton's certification process".
Better Cotton, the world’s largest sustainability initiative for cotton, has launched an investigation into the claims, made by an environmental NGO, which linked Zara owner Inditex, and also H&M, to deforestation in the Cerrado region of Brazil.
