TALLAHASSEE – Scientists have created a new way to make recyclable plastics through the combination of CO2 and lignin into a low-cost renewable replacement for petroleum-based polymers for a range of products including textiles.
The new material is said to be fully degradable at the end of its life without producing microplastics and potentially hazardous substances.
