DROGHEDA – Funding has been announced for a new project which aims to reduce textile waste in the European Union's (EU) Northern Periphery and Arctic (NPA) region which comprises Finland, Ireland and Sweden, along with the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Greenland and Norway.

The €1.5 million ($1.63 million) THREADs (Textile and Habiliment Reuse for the Environment and NPA Area Development) project is due to start in September and will focus on innovations in textile waste management.
