UKFT welcomes trade deal between United Kingdom and India

UKFT says the new deal can benefit the country’s fashion and textile industry, with domestic exporters to India promised a competitive edge over international rivals.

The United Kingdom and India announced a significant free trade deal on Tuesday.

LONDON – The United Kingdom Fashion and Textile Association (UKFT) has “broadly welcomed” the landmark trade deal between the UK and India which will slash tariffs on a wide range of products and services.

UKFT says it worked closely with the government to make sure the deal can benefit the UK fashion and textile industry while safeguarding domestic manufacturers from “unfair competition”.
