BASF and Lemon sign memorandum of understanding to co-develop new recyclable materials for the apparel and outdoor sectors

The two companies have signed a memorandum of understanding

Chemical specialist BASF is partnering with South Korea-based textile innovator Lemon to jointly develop waterproof fabrics made using Freeflex, a fibre made from BASF’s Elastollan, a PFAS-free thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU).

Lemon, which specialises in functional nanomembranes, will incorporate Freeflex into the production of its recyclable waterproof and windproof apparel with the memorandum of understanding also outlining the scope for further collaboration in technology development and business expansion.
