We cast our eye over The Fashion Pact, an initiative launched in 2019 by the President of France Emmanuel Macron and presented to Heads of State at the G7 Summit. What is it’s mission? What has it achieved so far? And what do its latest finances look like? Is it worth backing?

For further details of NGOs and not-for-profits operating in this space, read our recently published Guide to Multistakeholder Initiatives – a 60 page printed guidebook.

Fashion Pact

The Fashion Pact was launched by French President Emmanuel Macron and presented to Heads of State at the G7 Summit in France in 2019. It was co-founded by Kering chairman and CEO, François-Henri Pinault with business leader and climate and equalities campaigner Paul Polman.

Operating loss in 2024 widened to €226k from €19k, with expenses up due to higher external charges (€754k) and dedicated funds (€299k). Revenue dipped from grants/memberships (€2.05m core), offset by minor gains elsewhere. Salaries dominate costs, typical for mission-driven NGOs scaling impact projects such as the Fashion Pact CVPPA renewables and biodiversity roadmaps.
