The country says it “cannot wait” for a broader EU limitation on forever chemicals
STOCKHOLM – Sweden has proposed a unilateral ban on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), widely known as ‘forever chemicals’.
The restriction, set for 1 January 2028, means the country is moving before an expected 2027 European Commission proposal for a broad limitation of the use of PFAS in the EU.
