HELSINKI – A European chemical body which reports to the European Commission has rejected proposals to restrict four classes of phthalates under REACH legislation, despite the fact the legislators agree that these chemicals, which are found in consumer products such as t-shirt prints and textiles, are proven hormone disruptors.
