HONG KONG – A new spinning mill in Hong Kong’s former garment-producing hub will begin operations later this year, producing recycled yarn derived from the region’s textile waste.

The landmark mill opening, which will be the first in Hong Kong for several decades, signals a drive to divert some of the territory’s mounting textile waste from landfill and simultaneously bring industry back to the region.
