MILAN – Following our expose earlier this week on how commodity chemicals are a significant source of restricted, hazardous substances in textile wastewater, Bluesign Technologies has told Ecotextile News that in early 2019 it will go live with an updated, holistic solution to help solve this problem.

Speaking on the sidelines at last week's bluesign event in Milan, Dr Thomas Schaefer, managing director of the bluesign academy told us: “Bluesign has been considering the management of impurities found in basic (commodity) chemicals for a number of years – especially for critical chemicals such as thiourea (a reducing agent). For this reason, Bluesign system partners from the textile finishing sector will define purchase conditions and ask for specifications for all basic chemicals.”
