VANTAA – Finnish childrenswear firm Reima is working to develop a method of recycling outdoor apparel, including garments with in-built water repellency and those which contain elastane, which have hitherto proven very difficult to repurpose.

Reima is the only clothing company working as part of the EU-funded Trash-2-Cash project, designed to ensure previously hard-to-recycle garments are not simply consigned to downcycling or waste.
