LA JOLLA – Any delegates headed to the Cotton Sustainability Summit in San Diego to hear exclusively about niche issues relating to the cotton supply chain will have been left overwhelmed by the breadth of content discussed. 

In the city’s La Jolla district, almost 200 attendees were immersed in an agenda which far transcended the cotton sector – and, at times, the wider fashion industry as well.  

While some sessions focused on topics such as agricultural practices and LCA data delivered plenty of sector-specific dialogue rooted in academic research, broader environmentalism, the circular economy and many more areas of interest raised the prospects of a variety of solutions to the issues currently facing fashion sector decision makers.
