PITTSBURGH – Fashion retailer American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) has joined the RE100 group of companies committed to renewable energy and also signed the UN Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action.
RE100, which is led by The Climate Group in partnership with the CDP non-profit, is a global corporate leadership initiative which aims to bring together influential businesses committed to the use of 100 per cent renewable electricity.
The Fashion Industry Charter, sponsored by the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 - however AEO aims to be carbon neutral by 2030.
