PHNOM PENH – Stakeholders in Cambodia’s garment manufacturing industry will meet next month to begin what are expected to be contentious discussions over a new minimum wage for workers.

Union representatives, employers and government officials will meet and thrash out an agreement before a revised figure is revealed in September.

It’s expected from all sides that negotiations will prove difficult as Cambodia has been amongst the hardest hit textile industries by the coronavirus pandemic.
