KOWLOON – Fashion conglomerate Crystal International has aligned with more than 60 brands and retailers by joining the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Jeans Redesign project, an initiative kick-started last year with the mission statement of prolonging the lifecycle of denim.

All signatories pledge to work by guidelines that establish minimum requirements on garment durability, material health, recyclability and traceability.

“We see circular design as the future and we are proud to be part of the movement to transform the way we produce jeans,” said Crystal’s general manager, corporate quality and sustainability, Catherine Chiu. “The whole industry can collaborate and will positively benefit by working together.”
