SAN FRANCISCO – The Apparel Impact Institute (Aii) has unveiled environmental non-profit Legambiente as its local partner for the ‘Italy Project’ which it announced earlier this year.

With the backing of Kering, Stella McCartney and Burberry, the project sets out to support the implementation and scaling of environmental programmes addressing the use of energy, water and chemistry in clothing supply chains.

“We strongly believe that the realisation of this project can bring concrete environmental benefits, and we hope it will arouse interest, given the various positive experiences that have been increasing in recent years that put the environmental and social sustainability of fashion supply chains at the centre of the challenge,” said Giorgio Zampetti, general manager of Legambiente.
