COLOMBO - Sri Lankan apparel manufacturer Hela Clothing, which also has factories in Kenya and Ethiopia, has been presented with the 'Most Sustainable Factory' award at the Asda- and Walmart-owned George brand's first Global Sustainability Conference.
The Global Sustainability Conference, which brought together suppliers from across the globe, was held to conduct discussions on reducing the brand’s environmental impact while also recognising suppliers for their achievements in these areas.
It was Hela Clothing's second award for sustainability this year after it previously received the Sustainability Award at the Tesco Non-Food Partner Conference, the company said in a media release.
