HAMBURG - A new initiative has been launched with the ambition of making cotton produced under the Cotton made in Africa (CmiA) initiative carbon neutral.

The Aid by Trade Foundation (AbTF), which runs CmiA, has linked up with the Atmosfair climate protection non-profit to create the 'CmiA Carbon Neutral' programme.

It aims to gradually replace conventional power at ginneries with solar energy, while also encouraging farmers and their families to make changes in their home lives.
