STOCKHOLM – Swedish textile recycler Renewcell has signed a letter of intent with Indian viscose giant Birla Cellulose for a long term collaboration on large scale circular fibre production.

Renewcell is to supply up to 30,000 tonnes a year of its 100 per cent recycled textile Circulose to Birla Cellulose for the production of its new Liva Reviva fibre which contains 20 per cent pre-consumer waste.

Renewcell's patented solution dissolves garments with high cellulosic content into a pulp that can then be used to yield virgin-equivalent raw material.
