STOCKHOLM – Swedish chemicals company OrganoClick has launched a new bio-based, biodegradable PFAS-free waterproof coating for textiles under its OrganoTex brand.
It says the product, which is also free of fossil-based plastics and synthetic waxes, is based on combining the natural fatty acids of plants and the surface structure of leaves.
The eco-labelled textile waterproofing makes use of the Nobel Prize-winning chemistry organocatalysis to mimic the natural water repellency of the lotus leaf.
