JYVÄSKYLÄ – Sustainable fibre manufacturer Spinnova has received €1.9 million ($2.1m) in funding from Business Finland to help develop its multi-patented technology which creates fibre from textile and agricultural waste.

The grant, which represents half of the Finnish company's research and development (R&D) budget until April 2025, targets pilot-scale production of Spinnova fibre from new waste streams.

The product development project aims to expand Spinnova’s technology by adding new refining and fibre recycling components which could be used by factories producing Spinnova fibre.
