WASHINGTON – US legislators are concerned that Chinese ultra-fast fashion retailers, like Shein and Temu, are out-flanking the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) which bans imports from Xinjiang on the assumption they are made with forced labour.
Senator Marco Rubio, one of the authors of UFLPA, points out that the millions of parcels sent to US consumers by these Chinese companies evade import inspections, because of their direct-to-consumer business model.
