AMSTERDAM - Fair Wear Foundation and the Sustainable Terms of Trade Initiative (STTI) are to work together to advance more responsible purchasing practices in the garment and textile industry.

The two initiatives have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at advancing systemic change in the sector through responsible purchasing practices and human rights due diligence (HRDD).

Fair Wear, which guides about 130 brands on human rights due diligence, and STTI, which represents supplier associations from 10 manufacturing countries, hope to help brands prepare for the European Union's proposed Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).
