HONG KONG - The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA) is looking for commercial partners to help scale up its reProLeather project, a new approach to sustainable leather production developed in partnership with the H&M Foundation and Burberry Asia.
Traditional recycled leather is produced by combining shredded scraps and residual fibres of real leather with synthetic, non-biodegradable binders such as PU and PVC.
