HERZOGENAURACH - Sportswear brand Puma says it has successfully turned an experimental version of its classic 'Suede' trainer into compost - under certain conditions - following a two-year trial.

Puma's 'Re:Suede' experiment involved the creation of 500 pairs of trainers, made with Zeology-tanned suede, thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) and hemp fibres, in a bid to be compostable.
