PERTH - Viscose manufacturer Birla Cellulose and Australian textile innovator Nanollose have confirmed the successful completion of a third pilot production spin cycle of the latter's Nullarbor and Nufolium fibres.

The pair filed for a joint patent, entitled 'High Tenacity Lyocell Fibres from Bacterial Cellulose and Method of Preparation Thereof in 2021', and have spent the past couple of years optimising Nanollose’s ‘tree-free’ Nullarbor fibre for mainstream textile use.
