BRUSSELS - The European Council and the European Parliament have reached a provisional agreement on legislation to ban the products made with forced labour from the European single market.

It follows the Uyghur Forced Labour Prevention Act in the US which bans the import of goods from the Xinjiang 'cotton hub' region of China on the presumption they are made with forced labour unless it can be proved otherwise.
