LONDON – UK fashion retailer River Island has announced that its net-zero emissions targets have been validated by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) with the goal of reaching net-zero by 2040.
The SBTi has backed the brand's target to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 90% by 2030, from a 2019 base year and reduce scope 3 GHG emissions by 30% by 2032, from a 2021 base year.
