Garment and footwear manufacturer invests $2.7 million in replacing coal with biomass boilers at factory in Vietnam
NAM DINH - South Korean garment and footwear manufacturer Youngone Corporation has invested $2.7 million on transitioning from coal to biomass boilers, powered by agricultural waste, at a textile and dyeing facility in Vietnam.
Youngone, which aims to reduce its carbon emissions by 40% by 2030, replaced the three main boilers at the factory in Nam Dinh with replacements fuelled by rice husk pellets sourced from local farms.
