BRAC has launched the Shikha project to help combat gender-based violence in Bangladesh’s garment sector

The project will work to create safer public and private spaces

Bangladesh-based social enterprise BRAC has partnered with the European Union on a new initiative aimed at creating safer working conditions for women in the country’s textile industry.

According to BRAC, recent studies reveal that 80% of women working in garment factories have experienced some form of violence or harassment in Bangladesh.
