Symposium at the University of Leeds is told which fibres, yarns and fabrics shed the most – and how this is influenced by manufacturing processes

LEEDS - Pioneering research by academic and industry experts into textile fibre fragmentation - including microplastic shedding - was the subject of a symposium today at the University of Leeds.

The Fragmented Fibres Symposium, held at the university's School of Design, marked the completion of an EPSRC-funded research project to raise awareness of microfibre pollution among consumers, and help the fashion and textile industry gauge the impact of products in the supply chain.
