Better Cotton posts update on Brazil concerns

LONDON – The Better Cotton inititative has published an update on its efforts to address concerns about cotton production in Brazil’s Matopiba region after an NGO last year accused its licensed farms of deforestation and coercing local communities into giving up their land.

It includes working with its strategic partner in Brazil, ABRAPA (Brazilian Cotton Growers’ Association), to ensure it is still satisfied that ABRAPA's ABR programme is sufficiently robust to be aligned with its own standard.
