LONDON - The Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) has issued a plea for responsible purchasing practices amidst reports that fashion brands have been trying to pass on US President Trump's tariffs to their suppliers.

The ETI quotes press reports that brands have been delaying orders, demanding discounts or asking suppliers to pay the huge tariffs which have been placed on US imports from garment producing nations including China, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and India.
