Tanzanian cotton workers suffer pesticide poisoning

DAR ES SALAAM – A large-scale study of over one thousand cotton farmers in Tanzania found that 48% of those surveyed reported adverse health effects within 24 hours of pesticide exposure.

And of these worker incidents, over 80% were associated with exposure to just four pesticides including two which are already widely banned in at least 39 countries.
