New report from Fair Labor Association highlights worker risks at every stage of the leather supply chain in Brazil

WASHINGTON DC - A new study from the Fair Labor Association (FLA), in collaboration with ethical trade consultancy Impactt, warns of human rights risks at every stage of the supply chain in Brazil's leather industry.

The report also highlights concerns including a lack of transparency between farms, slaughterhouses and tanneries; certification schemes that do not cover areas where worker violations are most likely to occur; and a lack of collaboration between the apparel and meat industries on traceability or human rights due diligence.
