Consumer survey backs cotton over synthetics

Poll of more than 13,000 consumers was funded by Cotton Incorporated and Cotton USA, and released to mark World Cotton Day

CARY / WASHINGTON DC - Three-quarters of consumers prefer clothing made of cotton, cotton blends or denim to manmade fibres such as polyester, spandex and rayon, according to a major new survey.

The 2025 Global Lifestyle Monitor Survey of 13,026 consumers across 13 countries was commissioned by Cotton Incorporated and Cotton USA which released the results to coincide with World Cotton Day.
