Research in the Netherlands finds that large textile laundry facilities are significant point sources of microfibres

AMSTERDAM – A Netherlands study has shed new light on the scale of microfibre pollution from the textile industry and potential solutions.

Microfibres – particles smaller than 5mm – are now found in virtually all natural water systems, raising concerns about their persistence and impact on both marine ecosystems and human health.
