New study by Chinese scientists says darker coloured materials emit more microfibres because they absorb more sunlight

BEIJING - Polyester fibres dyed darker shades release more microfibres in seawater because they absorb more sunlight, according to a new scientific study.

Researchers at the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences in Beijing and Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology carried out the study published in the New Contaminants journal.
