Specialty cotton production up 9% – ICAC report

The latest edition of ICAC’s Specialty Cotton Report says specialty cotton accounted for 33% of total world cotton lint production in 2023/24

WASHINGTON DC – Global specialty cotton production reached eight million tonnes in the 2023/24 season, up 9% on 2022/23 and the highest level recorded so far, according to the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC)’s latest edition of its Specialty Cotton Report.

Specialty cotton comprised about 33% of total world cotton lint production in 2023/24, a rise of 3% on the previous season, the report states.
