Bangladesh unrest shuts key garment hubs

DHAKA – Bangladesh’s worsening political and security crisis is beginning to disrupt garment production in several key industrial areas, raising fresh concerns over supply continuity for international apparel buyers, according to national media reports in the country.

Multiple garment factories in Gazipur, Savar, and Narayanganj are said to have suspended operations, with managements citing worker safety, transport disruption, and rising insecurity as primary reasons.
