A new investigation has documented ostriches being plucked live on commercial farms in South Africa to supply feathers to luxury brands including YSL, Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Chanel, as well as ultra-fast fashion retailer Shein.
The undercover report, Blood Feathers, by World Animal Protection and Collective Fashion Justice, includes video footage showing workers trapping the animals and plucking feathers with pliers without pain relief.
